How should I to upgrade to version 5 if I also want to move the data folder out of the current user directory and into a common directory?

In that case the best approach would be:
  1. Take a backup before doing anything (this is never bad advice)
  2. Close the app, stop the service
  3. Do a straight over-the-top install, keeping the existing account and data folder location as for v4
  4. After the install open up the app and use File -> Change Data Folder to move the location of the data folder
  5. If desired, close app & stop service and use the Windows services cpl to change the service start up account.
